Carl Frampton V Kris Hughes Commonwealth Title Betting Preview

Unbeaten Northern Irish prospect Carl Frampton takes on Scotland’s Kris Hughes saturday night live on Sky Sports infront of a sell out crowd at York Hall for the Commonwealth super-bantamweight title.

The unbeaten 24 year-old Ulsterman tackles the Scot in the first defence of the title he claimed in September with a clinical four-round stoppage of Australian Mark Quon at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast. Frampton is being touted as the finest young prospects in the country and has impressed a lot of fans with a series of clinical performances.

That victory took his record to 11-0 and he is aiming to make it a round dozen against the 24 year-old Hughes, whose only loss in 16 fights came when he faced Jamie Arthur for the vacant Commonwealth title in October 2010 at the Troxy in East London.

It’s a very tough fight for Hughes as he doesnt carry any sort of decent punching power, so his only chance of winning the fight will probably be via points and few believe he has the class to outbox Frampton over 12 rounds.

Betting Tips

No doubt that Frampton wins the fight, Hughes is a 9/1 underdog to win this and even that’s a bit short, I do however see some value in Hughes maybe taking this to the final bell, he has shown nothing to say he can be stopped easily and you can get 5/2 on Frampton to win the fight on points.
