Gabon v Morocco Betting Preview

Gabon (14/1 for the title) have their destiny in their own hands following that opening day 2-0 win over fellow AFCON minnows Niger but the skill level of their opponents has been ramped up for this game as they take on former winners and one time World Cup regulars Morocco (11/1 for the title) for match day two in Group C.

Gabon (7/4 for the match) are on top of the group from Tunisia by virtue of goal difference due to not conceding a goal in the tournament thus far, that clean sheet statistic will surely be tested against Morocco (13/8 for the match) and their forward line that just seemed to be waking up at the end of their opening defeat to Tunisia a few days ago.

Gabon have five strikers in their squad with veteran Daniel Cousin leading the way at the ripe old age of 34yrs, he has scored eight time in his 27 appearances which isn’t a lot considering his years, Cousin is 11/2 to score first. His younger team mate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has six goals in 21 internationals and at 22 years of age he has time on his side. Aubameyang can be backed at 15/2 to score first.

It was the Captain Houssine Kharja (14/1 to score first) with his seventh international goal that gave the Lions of Atlas late hope against the Tunisians but they couldn’t quite find the leveller.

Morocco certainly have goals in the squad with veteran former Coventry City striker Mustapha Hadji having scored 20 times in 64 appearances, he is 7/1 to score first whilst his younger compatriot and Arsenal FC player Marouane Chamakh has 17 international goals to his name is at 13/2 in the first goalscorer market .
