Mark Selby v Shaun Murphy betting preview

The 2005 Embassy World Champion Shaun Murphy (9/1 for the tournament) has never got passed this stage of the masters and this will be his fifth crack at the Quarter-finals when he takes on fellow Englishman and provisional World No.1 Mark Selby (4/1 for the tournament).
A winner of four World Ranking events including the big two of the UK and the Worlds Murphy is not to be discounted in any match, a solid break builder and an ice cool temperament makes him a very difficult opponent for any in the game. He was 3-1 up at the interval against Gould and a repeat of that interval scoreline would pay out 11/4 with skybet.
The World No.7 easily took apart fellow Englishman Martin Gould in the first round with a comprehensive 6/2 victory on Monday night so didn’t use a great deal of mental energy so should be fresh as a daisy for this clash with Mark Selby his cueing arm is looking golden right now as well with six breaks over 50 including a couple of centuries the highest of which being a fantastic total clearance of 139 which sealed his Quarter-final spot.
It shouldn’t be as easy for Shaun Murphy (6/4 for the match) as he takes on Mark Selby (8/15 for the match) after the Leicester potter came through a close match against Stephen Lee by a 6-4 scoreline (a repeat of that scoreline here would pay out 5/1) after very nearly blowing leads of 4-0 at the interval (a repeat after four frames would pay out 8/1 with Skybet) and 5-1 shortly afterwards before finally sealing the deal with a cool 75 break in frame eleven.
Betting Tips
Mark Selby is the favourite for the match but is short priced at 8/15, Shaun Murphy is on form and has been all the way in the big tournaments so looks a decent bet at 6/4 for the quarter-final tie but seems to have a major problem with this competition at the this stage. We like Mark Selby just in a tie-breaking 6-5 scoreline to pay out 11/2 with skybet.
