Watford v Tottenham Hotspur Betting Preview

Vicarage Rd
Friday January 27th
Kick Off: 19.45

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp puts his off-field troubles to one side this weekend as his team make the short trip to Vicarage Road, Watford for what could be a tricky fourth round FA Cup tie with lower league opposition, all the ingredients are there for an upset including the rarity that it is a Friday night game for Premier League side.

Spurs are currently third in the English Premier League but have lost their last match with leaders Manchester City in what was a glowing advert for the EPL with flowing football, controversy and stunning goals, though none of that will console Redknapp and Co.

Team news for Spurs would involve a little bit of guess work as we don’t think Harry will pick his strongest side, possibly resting stars like Bale and Van der Vaart but recalling Emmanuel Adebayor (15/4 first / last or 20/21 to score at anytime) after he sat out the City defeat due to the terms of his loan deal.

Fellow Striker Jermain Defoe is just behind him at 9/2 for the first or last goal and 6/5 to score at anytime.

Watford (6/1 for the match) are just about clear of the Championship’s relegation zone by six points but are not in the best of form as it stands, their last victory came in the third round of the FA Cup when they beat League Two Bradford City 4-2. Goals on the day coming from Troy Deeney (14/1 first /l last or 4/1 at anytime), Marvin Sordell (10/1 first / last or 3/1 anytime) and a brace from Craig Forsyth (25/1 first / last or 8/1 at anytime).

Betting Tips

Spurs are big favourites for this potential banana skin that kicks off on Friday night but they should have just enough to combat Watfords physicality and the vociferous home crowd to take a 2-1 win back to north London. Watford 1-2 Spurs paying out 7/1.
